End-User Training

Umoja End-User Training is held on the UN’s e-learning platform, inspira, as well as through Computer Based Trainings (CBTs) or in-person classroom sessions at each deploying entity.

To become a certified user of Umoja, Levels 1, 2 and 3 Training courses must be taken through the e-learning platform on inspira.  These courses will each be followed by assessments, surveys and certificates which confirm that one has passed the training.  The certificates are issued through inspira. 

Umoja End-User Training will begin approximately 4-6 weeks prior to Umoja’s deployment at each site.  Please visit the Umoja Deployment Interactive Timeline to find out when Umoja will be implemented at your location.

Umoja Academy

The Umoja Academy was established in May 2014 with the purpose of developing a greater cadre of Umoja expertise across the UN Secretariat.  Participants receive customized training through a tailored curriculum comprised of learning modules relevant to the participants’ functional area.  Through the Academy, participants become fully familiar with all aspects of Umoja and gain a fundamental understanding of “end to end” processes and scenarios.

Process Experts (PEs) and Local Process Experts (LPEs) become certified through Umoja Academy once they have completed all necessary trainings and passed the mandatory assessment.  PEs and LPEs assist in the deployment of Umoja by training and supporting end-users in their respective functional units at each deploying entity. 

 


Official Umoja Training is held on the e-learning platform inspira and in classrooms at each site. 

In order to become a certified user of Umoja, all users who have been mapped to Enterprise Roles must complete Level 1, 2 and 3 Umoja Training courses through the e-learning platform on Inspira, followed by assessments, surveys and certificates issued through Inspira.

These courses are overview/navigational courses, to be taken on a self-service basis. To count towards personal curriculum completion (i.e. in order for users to get provisioned Umoja access), courses must be taken through the Inspira portal.  For all other uses, they are publicly available on the UmojaNet website.

Level 3 training is available for review on the Umoja iSeek Training page for UN staff only.

These courses are at an advanced, transactional-level and intended to be studied in an instructor-led environment.
They can only be viewed while browsing on the UN network.


 

Umoja is changing the way the United Nations works by streamlining fragmented administrative systems into one powerful platform.

In an effort to arm users with the knowledge and skills necessary to become organizational change leaders, a new initiative is underway: the Umoja Academy.

The Umoja Academy seeks to empower participants with the information they need to learn and successfully utilize the Umoja solution. Such leverage is achieved by providing customized training programmes that meet participants’ demands and offer continuous learning opportunities.
